Well, that was disappointing. I wanted to make a start on animating for Calypso, but because I made the character rigs and background on my old MacBook (before I got my new one last year) it can no longer store RAM. Hopefully I can transfer the files... 😬

With my two-week break coming up, I've decided to continue my shelved Calypso film since I have my character rigs and background ready for animating. The film may not be EXACTLY as I intended but hopefully I can submit it for the film club's competition.

I have the two-week half-term coming towards the end of October, and the filmmakers club I joined in early August have given details for their latest competition. Hopefully I can animate something within those two weeks, even if there's no narrative.

Apologies for missing out on a few weeks, had some Internet problems at home. 😅 Still kinda hoping I will make something before the year ends. What exactly? I'm not sure. Even if it's just something experimental I need to satisfy my creativity somehow.

Back to my Reprographics job this week. The copier was still having a fit with the aftermath of the heatwave before we broke for Summer, but thankfully it seemed to behave itself by Thursday. Getting a project finished this year is getting pretty slim. 😬

Came back home safely from Prague this week, really enjoyed my time there! I don't say this often travelling abroad but it's probably the first time I can wholeheartedly say that I can see myself living there (just need to get used to their currency! 😆😅)

Well, that didn't go according to plan. I only did scriptwriting this week as I was putting stuff into my new storage unit I acquired on Tuesday. I was VERY tired going back-and-forth on Thursday and Friday in the sun, and I'm off to Prague on Wednesday.

This Thursday was the Mansfield Library Family Film Fun Day, wonder how Mr Copycat went with the audience. I'm also putting the Owl & the Pussycat film on hold. I visited a filmmakers club on Friday and I feel like doing their Summer Challenge! 🌞

MR. COPYCAT Had an email yesterday from Mansfield to say the library is hosting a "Family Film Fun Day" and they wanted Mr Copycat to be featured! 😁 Too bad I won't be going to the event on Thursday being too far away. 😅 https://www.inspireculture.org.uk/arts-culture/film-fun-day-at-mansfield-central-library/ THE OWL & THE PUSSYCAT: A MARRIED LIFE By the way, I forgot to mention last week what my "revived" project is. It's pretty much a sequel to the Edward Lear poem where

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER REANIMATED Avatar fans have been spoiled this weekend. Yesterday the new Avatar movie has been dropped on Paramount+ and today the trailer for the Reanimated collab got dropped, too! Can't wait! 😁

While the World Cup Final still hangs in the balance with nil-nil as I'm writing this, I'm hoping to revive a shelved project during my Foundation Level course at Uni during the Summer holidays. I'll tell you this, it'll be shorter than Mr. Copycat! 😆😅

MR. COPYCAT Sorry for not posting my Sunday updates these past few weeks, the Internet at home went down since 2nd June! Anyhoo, Mr. Copycat returned to London for the GUTSY Film Festival dedicated to media makers with "invisible disabilities"!

Still nothing to update on (having a break this month,) but it's hard to imagine that this week it's been five years I've submitted my Grad film "Cloud Boy". Wow. Half a decade already. I'm also flying to Sicily next week, so I might not post on Sunday! 😅

Not much to update on this week after completing my Avatar Reanimated scene last week. Saw other animators' scenes in a shared Google Drive, they look really awesome! Looking forward to seeing the final product next year!

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER REANIMATED Glad to finish my scene with a whole day left to spare! It's definitely one of my favourites from the past Reanimated collabs that I worked on! Goodness knows what will be the next one I'll do... This week was also the ceremony of the AuSPEC Awards that I entered with my Amphibia script. Unfortunately I didn't win any awards, but was selected as a finalist stating that my script was a "deserving and welcome addition to the animation world

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER REANIMATED My last full week of progress is up, and I've finally made a start on Katara. Getting my scene submitted before Friday is doable, just need to recharge my energy after coming home from work next week. SUNSET IN SOMERSET & DAWN IN DAMASCUS Had a WhatsApp chat with the children's author regarding my friend's concept art on the main characters. He seems to like them, but wants to try and replicate one of the characters with a different hairs

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER REANIMATED My scene is starting to come together after finishing the background this week! Katara is definitely going to be a priority next week as it is my last full week before the end-of-month deadline. No pressure! SUNSET IN SOMERSET & DAWN IN DAMASCUS About a month ago I asked a friend of mine if he would like to do some concept art for the characters. The author was keen on using the 1950's UPA art style for the film. This week I received his

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER REANIMATED Managed to finish Sokka this week, along with a few more minor details. I've decided NOT to reveal him in my progress thread for spoiler reasons! Due to distractions at home, Katara will have to be done later. CLOUD BOY Really enjoyed Exit 6 Film Festival's Easter Film Showcase on Wednesday, despite some technical difficulties at the beginning (thankfully my film wasn't shown first!) Hopefully the audience has learnt something from Cloud

Happy Easter! It's nice to have some days off to resume working on my Avatar Reanimated scene, but admittedly there have been times throughout the week that I wanted to relax from the stresses at work! Looking forward to Cloud Boy's screening on Wednesday!

The Easter/Spring break starts tomorrow, it'll pretty much be my final push of spending as much free time as possible to continue my Avatar Reanimated scene. I'm not too far off from finishing my background, then I can do Katara and Sokka near completion.
